First Thing’s First
In order to get a bartender license, you naturally must attend a bartending school. National Bartending makes this an easy choice. Classes
Bartender Certification in the state of California requires a total of 40 class hours. Instructors cover the information in 10 chapters, or modules, during these classes. Each class is divided into two parts, a lecture and lab time. During the lecture, the teacher will explain the information in the chapter to you, and demonstrate any necessary skills needed to fully understand the material. After this, the students participate in the practical portion of the class. This is the lab. The lab takes place in a state-of-the-art mock bar. To get students prepared for real world experience, the mock bar contains everything that a real bar has. Students spend the last half of class mixing mock drinks, testing their speed, and memorizing recipes.
Students must attend one class for every chapter, in order to graduate. This ensures that all categories are covered to the fullest extent. The rest of the hours can be completed by retaking chapters, or by spending time in the lab studying, practicing speed, and drink mixing. Instructors will also give you practice practical tests in preparation for the final exam.
Because of our convenient class schedule, certification can be completed in as little as two weeks, with full time attendance.
Testing
Students complete the 40 hours of class time on their own schedule and timetable. After this is done, they will take a written exam. An instructor will give the written exam, which covers information from all 10 chapters studied over the course of the classes. After the written test, students participate in a practical, behind-the-bar exam. Students are tested by making a certain number of drinks within a specified period of time.
After completing the 40 hours of coursework and the two tests, students will receive their bartender license. Licenses are mailed to the school shortly after test completion. Once you have this, our staffing service can begin to place you in bartending jobs!

We offer classes six days a week, up to three times per day. In addition, the lab is open for practice and study in between classes. There is no need to pre-schedule; you choose when to show up and how long to stay. Times are calculated via a sign in sheet that students utilize before and after they attend.
